It is 64% chocolate, but because we use a relatively small ratio of chocolate to quinoa, the sugar per serving is much lower than you would find in a typical dark chocolate product that is 64% chocolate. In fact, one serving of our Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt Crisps only has 6g of sugar.

No, it is not certified vegan, but we use all plant-based ingredients in our dark chocolate flavors. The reason our products are not certified vegan is because we use cane sugar and cannot verify that the cane sugar is not processed with bone char.

We source our quinoa from Bolivia, the United States, and Canada.

It is not crisped using any oil or other ingredients. It is cooked at high temperatures and toasted, not extruded. Because we do not extrude our quinoa, we preserve a great deal of the fiber, protein, and nutrients, as compared to similarly crisped products.

No, unfortunately because of the high cost of shipping, we are unable to ship samples. However, we do have coupons available on our website. We also have frequent giveaways if you follow us on social media (Instagram: @UndercoverSnacks).

While we don’t recommend shipping our products in temperatures over 74 degrees, we do our best to ensure that the product will not melt. When we believe temperatures will be above 74 degrees during shipment, we try to use ice packs and/or other cold shipping techniques. While we cannot guarantee that the product will not melt in these temperatures, we can tell you that it is just as delicious melted as it is not melted. If melted, we suggest putting it in the refrigerator for a few minutes to harden, or melting it again and using it as a topping — it will be perfectly fine to eat, even if it does not look as beautiful as it might have otherwise. If it does melt, the product will not go bad, and the shelf life will not change. We pride ourselves in producing an imperfectly perfect product, and melting doesn’t change that.

Our products are Rainforest Alliance-certified because we care a great deal about sustainability. We also manufacture our products in a facility that is powered with solar energy.

We frequently donate to local food pantries, hospitals, first responders, and other organizations when and where we’re able to do so.

Yes, we operate out of our own manufacturing facility which is completely free from all tree nuts, peanuts, and all other products containing gluten.

Yes, our products are Kosher-certified (OU-D). They are certified OU-Dairy because our dark chocolate flavors and milk chocolate flavors are produced on shared equipment. 

Yes, our dark chocolate flavors are dairy free. However, they do run on the same lines as our milk chocolate flavors. We are extremely careful about cleaning in between changing from milk chocolate to dark chocolate. We also test for milk proteins whenever we change flavors. However, there is still the possibility of a trace amount of cross contamination.

Yes, our facility is SQF Certified (Edition 9.0), which is the highest level of food safety and quality that you can be certified for in the United States.

Our products undergo thorough quality assurance procedures to ensure they live up to our high standards. However, if you receive your product and it is defective, damaged or does not meet your expectations please snap a photo and send it to [email protected] so that we can assess the situation and prevent it from happening again. If you purchased your product directly from Undercover Snacks or one of our authorized retailers, we will happily issue you a refund or replace your product. Unfortunately, we cannot warrant products for defects that have been handled by distributors outside of our carefully selected network of partners.
